Day 1 of our 4 day trip on 4th of July in Bellevue, WA. We were there for the 4th of July Weekend Celebrations in Seattle, but we also went hiking at Cougar National Park, visited Chateau St. Michelle Winery, and a host of other daily adventures. It made more sense for us to stay in Bellevue, a beautiful suburb just 20-30 minutes southeast of Seattle. It was more central to our activities, and we got a great deal for an executive suite at the hidden Larkspur Landing Hotel. The weather was perfect for hiking. Some days it did rain but we managed our activities based on the weather forecast.
We worked as a team one of use monitored the weather and the other planned the activity for the day based on the weather report. It really makes it fun when you get the whole family involved with pre-planning activities. Make it fun for the kids and designate them to scan the weather forecast and have another kid work with you on the activity based on the weather report. Print out a map of the area and have them scan the map and familiarize yourselves with the area you are visiting.
The more you engage the kids the more they learn about their environment and how to navigate their way around. Remember knowledge gives kids power. We hope this information helps you in planning a trip on 4th of July in Bellevue, WA.
We have 6 more days to cover. I will be posting our activities for the 2nd day soon. If you liked this post and would like to see more or stay up to date please sign up for our once a month newsletter.
