On day 2 of our trip, July 4th, we had evening plans to watch the fireworks. Just a short 20-minute drive from our location, Kirkland’s Marina Park Public Beach was hosting a 4th of July festival, which sounded like the perfect way to celebrate the holiday. The festivities kicked off with a vibrant parade that set the tone for the day. Live bands played throughout the event, creating a lively atmosphere. We wandered through the bustling promenade, lined with an array of restaurants, bars, and ice cream shops, all decked out in patriotic decor.
For lunch, we decided to try Cactus Kirkland, a fantastic Mexican restaurant known for its delicious margaritas. The flavors were rich, and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxed, holiday meal. After indulging in some tasty tacos and refreshing drinks, we continued our stroll along the promenade. The array of shops and eateries made it hard to resist sampling more treats. We ended up at Sirena Gelato, where we couldn’t resist the temptation of their creamy, handcrafted gelato. Each bite was a delightful blend of flavors, making it a perfect treat for a warm July day.
As the day turned into evening, we were excited for the fireworks display in Seattle so we wrapped up our afternoon, feeling grateful for the day spent exploring Kirkland’s vibrant 4th of July celebrations. The blend of parades, music, great food, and friendly atmosphere made it a day to remember. If you ever find yourself near Kirkland on Independence Day, their festival at Marina Park Public Beach is a must-visit, offering a quintessentially American experience full of joy and community spirit. Our day was just beginning, because after Kirkland we went to Downtown Seattle to a 4th of July party at the top floor of one of those high-rises in Seattle. We were directly across the Space needle. To our right we had a view of the bay, and that’s when the fireworks going to be held. I posted the video for everyone to see.
